International Conference "Ecological Performance in a Competitive Economy" - PEEC

ACTIVE CALLS & PAPER TEMPLATE

Dear colleagues, it is our great honour to invite you to the 10th edition of the International Conference on Ecological Performance in a Competitive Economy - PEEC2018.

The works of the conference will be held on 8-9 March 2018 at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania. Details regarding the conditions of participation and fields of interest are comprised in the invitation. The paper template can be accesed here.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Economic activities are the turntable of current social interactions, driving the intensity and director of material and energy flows. The patterns of these activities will be mirrored by the amount of materials extracted and the amount of energy concentrated shaping the size and characteristics of the ecological impact. These relations were acknowledged several decades ago and the global environmental management made significant progresses in designing and implementing solutions applicable at global and national scales. Sustainable development supposes deep changes in the structure of economic and social systems, changes of which accomplishment becomes, before all, a challenge for knowledge development.

Increasing environmental performances have become a priority requirement in the economic activity. The papers presented within the debates of the conference revealed, on the one hand, the complexity of problems, and, on the other hand, the variety of solutions. Meanwhile, there were enlightened numerous controversial aspects that need the confrontation of theoretical results with the practice of ecological policy elaboration and implementation in the continuously changing economic context.

Considering these evolutions, and also the severe restrains brought by the economic and ecologic crisis the PEEC conference envisages firstly to create premises for researchers, academics and public administration representatives, businessmen, and consultants to share their experience and expectations, learning from each other. Secondly, the conference pursues to raise the awareness level regarding the activities needed for the environmental compliance and the advantages of going beyond it. A better correlation of educational and research objectives in a priority interest field represents the third objective of the conference. Thus, it is envisaged to identify competences and information needed for a competitive ecological economy through collating different socio-professional categories.
